Maria Papadogianis

MSW, RSW

Maria is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services workers (OCSWSSW) and is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). She completed her Bachelor of Social Work at McMaster University and earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto. Maria brings over 20 years of clinical experience to her private practice work, having worked in a variety of settings including most recently, in the education sector as a school Social Worker. 
 
Maria has experience creating a safe, non-judgmental space for children, youth and young adults so they may express their thoughts and feelings, share their experiences and struggles, and explore new ways of coping. She also has a passion for supporting parents and caregivers as they navigate parenting and life’s challenges. Whether you are coming to therapy following a new mental health diagnosis, and/or are struggling with a variety of symptoms including: anxiety, depression, grief/loss, self-harming, or are impacted by trauma, you will feel heard, supported, and validated.
 
Maria will draw on a variety of treatment approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindful Self-Compassion, with a trauma and attachment focus.
